This Cyber Monday we unveil where charities can get some of the best software bargains.
Following the much-hyped mayhem of the Black Friday sales, Cyber Monday sometimes gets forgotten. Taking place on and around the 3rd of December, the sister day to Black Friday focuses purely on deals to be found online.
Cyber Monday harks back to the early days of the internet when online shopping was beginning to be promoted, although these days, now that the distinction between online and offline retail is blurred, you can find online deals around both Black Friday and Cyber Monday and they’ve more or less blurred into one long sale (Check out part 1 here, which covered Black Friday deals).
While the majority of Cyber Monday tech deals are consumer goods, there are some bargains worth grabbing for charities looking to make their IT spending go further.
Since Cyber Monday is supposed to be online we’ve focused more on software and apps – here’s where to grab some great deals.

Lastly, it’s not a software deal, but we wanted to give a nod to Cyber Monday’s charitable alternative, Giving Tuesday – the charity sector’s answer to all this spending excess that takes place a day after Cyber Monday (3rd December).
In 2012, Giving Tuesday came about as an antithesis to the greed and materialism, and has since become a global movement for change, as well as one of the sector’s biggest online fundraising days of the year – last year, UK charities raised over £7.8m.
