Movember launches £10,000 link up with Tik Tok
The mobile platform is urging users to help raise further funds for Movember by posting videos of their support for the campaign.
TikTok is to donate up to £10,000 to Movember when users post videos supporting the the men’s health campaign, where the public fundraise by growing a moustache during November.
For each video posted of their moustache that uses the #Movember hashtag the social media platform will donate £1. A total pot of £10,000 has been allocated by TikTok for the push.
Videos about the campaign, including why people can’t grow a beard or what Movember means to them, are also included in the campaign.
“We’re very excited to link up with TikTok and reach a new audience of potential Mo Bros and Mo Sistas,” said Alex Caine, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Movember.
“We want men to talk openly about their health, but we also want others to be open to listening. Hopefully, this partnership will encourage more people to change their perception of men’s health issues.”
Movember Spotify Playlist
In addition, TikTok has launched a #Movember playlist via Spotify, featuring tracks by famous mustachioed artists, including Queen’s Freddie Mercury, Prince, Lionel Ritchie and Hall and Oates’s John Oates.
Movember is aiming to raise funds and awareness for a raft of men’s health issues during November. It is now in its 12th year.
Mental health issues among men is among the challenges covered in the campaign. Movember is particular concerned by the high suicide rate among men, which it aims to reduce by 2030.
