UK Youth named as LinkedIn’s flagship charity partner
Buisiness netowrking website LinkedIn announces UK Youth as charity partner to help young people build their professional profiles and networks
Supporting young people is the core goal of the UK Youth charity. Today the charity announced a new partnership; they will become the key charity partner for the business networking website LinkedIn.
The partnership will focus on two key areas: providing opportunities to support young people directly and opportunities to enable capacity building through training and advice for local organisations in the UK Youth movement.
Commenting on the announcement, Anna Smee, CEO of UK Youth – the largest national body for the youth sector said: “We are incredibly excited to be working in partnership with the LinkedIn UK team to empower young people with the confidence, skills and experience needed to feel ready for the workplace. With a growing requirement for digital proficiency in the workplace, this partnership will allow us to support young people build their professional profiles and networks and create connections helping improve their employability prospects.”
Having the support of LinkedIn – owned by Microsoft – UK Youth will be able to expand their programmes of assistance. Jessica White, LinkedIn’s Head of Social Impact for EMEA & LATAM said: “UK Youth is a fantastic charity and we are delighted that our team at LinkedIn UK can help support the organisation and the UK Youth movement more broadly. We’re excited to enhance existing programming that will support young people on their journey to employment and connect them to meaningful opportunity.”
Ultimately, the new partnership will have several core goals, including enabling anyone using UK Youth to benefit from the LinkedIn Coaches Programmes [https://socialimpact.linkedin.com/programs/coaches]. Also, engagement opportunities can be explored through fundraising, training and volunteering activities.
