#DFD2019: A guide to using social media to raise more funds
Social media gurus lightful join the Digital Fundraising Day agenda with a session dedicated to driving fundraising initiatives with social.
Charity Digital’s Digital Fundraising Day (#DFD2019) is fast approaching. As we lead up to Nov 7th, we’ll be highlighting the partners, sponsors, friends, and colleagues who will be fronting our sessions throughout the day.
First up is Lightful, the social media platform specifically for social good. Lightful helps deal with posts, scheduling, access rights, and tone across an entire organisation and already works with charities like The Big Give, London’s Air Ambulance, Guy’s St Thomas, and many others.
Social media has been rated the most compelling tool of communication for all online donors. Driving almost 60% of the traffic for fundraising campaigns, social can inspire but also empower your supporters to give and sets them on a personalized engagement journey that turns one-time gifts into yearly contributions.
Lightful’s session at this year’s Digital Fundraising Day, “A guide to using social media to raise more funds” will focus on the top 5 ways charities can make their fundraising campaigns more social. From strategy to engagement and everything in between, the 5 steps will be followed by a deep-dive into how to build a social fundraising journey and charity campaigns that have driven amazing fundraising results.
Joining us on the day will be Relationship Manager Tom DeFraine. Tom has worked in digital fundraising at JustGiving and Blackbaud – having previously built his career as a community fundraiser for small and medium-size charities. Tom’s work has been featured on the JustGiving blog and he’s run countless webinars readying small charities for emerging tech trends, as well as presenting at Blackbaud Conference and the Social Enterprise Conference.
Fun Fact: Tom has a pet gecko called Gambino
