Charities to benefit from digital banking firm’s donation service
Revolut, which was set up in 2015 to offer digital banking has created Donations to allow customers to round up payments to give to charities.
Digital financial service Revolut has developed a new service allowing its customers to round up card payments and donate the spare change to charities.
The service is called Donations and will allow Revolut’s five million Europe-wide customers to instantly round up their card payments. Customers can also donate to charities via one off, weekly or monthly payments.
Nik Storonsky, Revolut Founder and Chief Executive Officer said: “Supporting social causes is really important to us and many of our users.
“A lack of transparency and time consuming processes are issues commonly experienced when donating to charity. So at Revolut we’ve decided to help make charitable donations simple by building an easy and secure tool to enable our community to give back, even if it’s only a little spare change. We’re excited to see how far Donations can go and the impact we can make together.”
Three charities first to benefit
Gemma Sherrington, Executive Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Save the Children said: “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to deliver the greatest impact for children who need it most. Together with Revolut, we’ll raise awareness and funds for our life-saving work, give children a platform to share their stories and continue doing whatever it takes to build a better future for children everywhere.”
Naomi Hicks, Director of Partnerships at WWF, added: “We are the first generation that knows we’re destroying the planet and could be the last that can do anything about it. Opportunities like this one are essential if we’re to halt and reverse nature’s decline. That’s why we’re delighted to be one of the three charities benefiting from Revolut’s ‘Donations’ to encourage Revolut’s customers to protect vital habitats and species through donating to WWF. We’re looking forward to inspiring millions to join the fight for our world.”
