Animal charities compete for £100,000 in online vote
Animals Friends Pet Insurance is marking its 20th anniversary with the launch of an online vote that will see one of three charities win £100,000
Three animal charities are in the running to win £100,000 in an online competion being run by a pet insurance company.
Animal Friends Pet Insurance will be giving away the money to one of three charities that receives the highest number of votes in an online poll.
Those in the running are the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, which raises awareness and funds projects to increase and support the UK bumblebee population.
Celia Hammond Animal Trust is also among the three charities. The Trust works in London and the South East to help stray, abandoned and unwanted animals.
The third is Street Vet, which was launched in 2016 to provide veterinary care to the pets of homeless people in nine UK cities.
Competition launches to mark insurer’s 20th anniversary
“We’d absolutely love to win the 100K Charity Giveaway,” said Dr Jade Statt, Co-Founder of StreetVet.
“It would help us to keep providing life-saving veterinary care to animals owned by members of the homeless community across the UK.
“As the nights draw in and the weather gets colder, there is an increasing need for fundamental care and support for man’s best friend.”
The competition has been launched by Animal Friends to mark its 20th anniversary.
Voting closes on Monday 10 December.
