Online Christmas competition offers charities £120,000
Ecclesiastical’s 12 Days of Giving competition sees charities nominated share £120,000 in the run up to Christmas.
Specialist charity insurer Ecclesiastical has launched its annual online Christmas competition offering 120 charities a gift of £1,000.
Ecclesiastical is inviting the public via their website to nominate a charity they would like to see receive the money from its 12 days of Giving competition.
Competition winners will then be drawn at random. The more times a charity is nominated increases the chance they will be selected.
The charity insurer is also urging people to take to social media to encourage their followers to vote for their favourite charity.
Winners announced in the run up to Christmas
The charity winners will be announced via social media and the insurer’s website each day from 6-21 December.
“As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, we believe charitable giving is really important, and even small amounts can add up to make a big difference,” said Chris Pitt, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Ecclesiastical.
“Last year, our 12 Days of Giving campaign helped a vast range of causes, from funding heat pads to keep hedgehogs warm to helping a telephone befriending service for isolated carers. This year, we hope to help 120 causes close to people’s hearts.”
The insurer gives its staff a personal grant of £125 to give to charity, which is doubled if they volunteer for the same charity. The charity insurer’s staff raised more than £250,000 for good causes in 2017 through personal grants, matched donations and payroll giving.
