Localgiving announces online fundraising revamp
Fundraising page updates include smartphone and tablet optimisation and more control over social media coverage.
Small charity network Localgiving has announced an overhaul of its online fundraising support to make it simpler for individuals to raise money for good causes.
The improvements are designed to make it easier for those raising money for local charities and community groups to set up their own fundraising page via Localgiving and have more control over how it is promoted.
Improvements include integrated social media buttons, a swifter sign-up process and tips given at each stage on how fundraisers can maximise the impact of their page.
Pages are also optimised for smartphones and tablets and allow for fundraisers to send updates through images and videos.
Giving fundraisers more control
“Since 2009 we have worked hard to help local charities to diversify their income through developing their online fundraising capabilities,” said Alex Kirillov, Head of Technology at Localgiving.
“Localgiving always aim to be the most user friendly fundraising platform and we see these improvements as a reiteration of this ambition.
“We have thought hard about how to make these pages more feature rich, easier to use and more pleasing to look at from various devices, desktop to mobile. This product will give fundraisers far more control over their fundraising pages, giving their amazing challenges the life they deserve.”
According to Localgiving only around half (47%) of small charities are confident they will survive beyond five years due to rising demand and resourcing issues.
“These changes have been made to help local charities and their fundraisers better engage potential donors and ultimately to bring in more funding for these important grassroots causes,” adds a statement from Localgiving.
The update launches on 26 September. A video explaining the changes can be seen here.
