Charities are being urged to enter a competition offering the chance to win £17,000 worth of marketing and communication advice.

The free-to-enter competition is being run by social impact company WhatCharity.com and London based creative agency Alpha Century and is open to all England and Wales registered charities.

On offer is strategic consultation on improving the winning charity’s communication and branding, as well as 16 hours worth of art designer work, from Alpha Century.

WhatCharity.com will offer further sales, marketing and social media guidance.

In addition, WhatCharity.com has linked up with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) to offer the winning charity a social impact reporting tool.

Entry details

To enter, charities need to register their interest via a survey by midnight 20 September.

Based on responses, a longlist of between 30 to 40 charities will be drawn up then whittled down to a shortlist of between six to 10 charities. Alpha Century staff and stakeholders will then select a winner, who will be announced on 29 October.

Hugo Feiler, Alpha Century Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’ve worked with companies from start-ups to established brands, and we’re excited to be using our skills and expertise to help a charity.

“We aim to help lift an organisation to a new level with our strategic branding approach and action plan.”

Earlier this year WhatCharity.com launched a tool to help companies and their staff find charities to support. This matching tool invites charities to submit a profile of their achievements, impact and particular needs, such as volunteers or trustees with particular skills.
