Studio Republic is organising a 'Hack For Good' event at which digitally-creative teams will aim at developing a new charitable solution or application in just a day.

Ethical digital agency Studio Republic, which works specifically with charities, not-for-profit organisations and ethical businesses, has been named as a finalist in the ‘Agency for Good’ category of the 2018 Wirehive 100 Awards.

The Wirehive 100 Awards and League Table showcase digital excellence and recognise the outstanding work and exceptional individuals working at agencies in the southern counties based outside of London.

Returning for its 7th year, the awards have an expanded list of categories and eligible regions. This year reflects the latest trends in digital, and has included the addition of the ‘Agency for Good category’.

Agency for Good is an award for agencies who do more than just good work but have a genuine passion and ongoing commitment to doing good as part of their operating principles. As reported by Charity Digital News last month, on August 10th Studio Republic held a charity-themed hack day to bring together creative people, developers, designers, any kind of makers, to create technology for social good.

Winchester based Studio Republic joins other shortlisted contenders app designers 3 Sided Cube, as well as WordPress specialists 10 degrees, product developers Kyan, behaviour agency LAB, web agency Strawberry Soup, and brand specialists Why Digital? as finalists in the Agency for Good category of the 2018 Wirehive 100 Awards.

“To make the shortlist for Agency for Good is great news for the accomplished team at Studio Republic,” said Chris Todhunter, Technical Director at Studio Republic. “For us, Creative for Good is more than just a tagline  – it’s our agency’s ethos and something we live and breathe every day.”

Todhunter added: “The finalists were announced the day before we ran our charity hack day on, Hack for Good. It could hardly have been better timed. It’s great to see so many other agencies taking an ethical, sustainable, giving-back approach to their work.”

Wirehive 100 Awards winners will be announced and prsented at a special gala awards ceremony taking place at O2 Guildhall, Southampton, on 11 October 2018.
