Digital fundraising auction platform CharityStars’ second round of charity auctions of power lunches with prominent leaders in the blockchain sector approaches its last day, with the highest bid standing at more than £1,700.

The company’s first round of ‘Meet crypto mega moguls’ auctions, in December 2017, raised $137,500 – of which $87,000 was contributed from an auctioned power lunch with Bitcoin entrepreneur and CEO of Bitcoin.com, Roger Ver, toward his charity of choice, AntiWar.com.

The current blockchain charity auctions includes power lunches with: Marco Streng, Co-founder and CEO at Genesis Mining; Miko Matsumura, cryptocurrency expert and a speaker at popular crypto conferences worldwide; Moe Levin,  CEO at Keynote and investor in high-tech start-ups; and Jack Lu, Founder and CEO at WanChain Foundation Limited. Proceeds of all four auctions will again support the business celebrities’ chosen charitable causes.

The four auctions run until the Thursday 5th July at 5:00pm BST, and accept bids in AidCoin, Bitcoin, Ethereum, US dollars and Euro (although highest bids are displayed online converted to UK pounds).

Unlike the first wave of Bitcoin leader auctions, however, these donations return revamped, having the token’s payment gateway and embedded widget, AidPay, and payment wallet, AidChain. This time, all final bids of different cryptocurrencies will be converted to AidCoin and spent transparently on AidChain by the end beneficiaries – WWF, The Liberation Institute, and Alice for Children.

The initiative will help bring to life their users’ ambitions and raise money for charities, and showcase the use of AidChain, said Francesco Nazari Fusetti, Founder and CEO at CharityStars and AidCoin. “[It demonstrates] that top charities such as WWF are already willing to utilise cryptocurrencies and harness blockchain technologies to become more transparent and completely trackable,” said Fusetti. “All of these auctions are a real, practical and non-speculative example with a genuine social impact that bodes well for the Aidcoin growth.”
