Recruitment now open for Social Entrepreneurs Programme
The Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneurs Programme is calling for recruits for its 2018 programme
Applications are now open for the 2018-19 Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneurs Programme- a scheme which provides grants, learning and a mentoring to help start or scale up a social enterprise or community project.
The programme is run by Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social, in partnership with the School for Social Entrepreneurs and jointly funded by Big Lottery Fund.
Eligible recruits will get free access to a learning programme with the School for Social Entrepreneurs and a dedicated mentor from Lloyds Banking Group, as well as a grant of £1,000 or up to £7,000 in ‘Match Trading’ ndepending on applicant’s eligibility to grow their organisation.
The brand new funding model, Match Trading, was introduced in 2017 to encourage social entrepreneurs to grow their business through trading and increase their sustainability by incentivising them to explore new markets and diversify income streams.
The programme is now in its sixth year and aims to support 2,350 social entrepreneurs by 2020.
Josh Babarinde is founder and CEO of Cracked It, a social enterprise which trains and employs young people at risk of joining gangs to repair cracked smartphone screens and develop their employability skills.
“The support from Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Programme has allowed me to move Cracked It forward in a way which I could never have imagined,” said Barbarinde. “When you are constantly facing barriers, it’s essential to have a peer network who understand what you are going through. The action learning sets at the School for Social Entrepreneurs are really useful and I want to build up my relationship with my Lloyds Banking Group mentor.”
Applications are now open until 1pm, Thursday 26th April 2018, and taster sessions are taking place across the UK to showcase what the programme has to offer.
