Facebook has posted a video announcing that it will be matchfunding donations made to nonprofits on its platform up to the value of £200,000 this #GivingTuesday.

This year #GivingTuesday falls on November 28th. In celebration, Facebook is launching a matching campaign to support charities. All donations made through Facebook’s charitable giving tools on November 28th, starting at 12am local time in the UK, will be matched up to £10K per charity and £400 per fundraiser or donate button until the £200K in matching funds runs out.

There are no processing fees for donation made to UK charities on Facebook.

The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) says more than 1,900 individuals, businesses and charities across the country will be doing good ‘stuff’ on the global day of giving.

CAF added that it will boost donations by £100 for all organisation who open a charity account with the organisation by 30 November 2017.

Ben Russell, director of communications at CAF, said: “With just one week to go, it is heartening to see how many businesses, charities and individuals have made plans to get involved with #givingtuesday.”

Earlier this month Facebook expanded its charitable giving tools by offering more ways for people to fundraise with Personal Fundraisers.
