Charities are being urged to lend their weight to a new Instagram campaign that has been created to highlight the work within the sector.
Charities are being urged to lend their weight to a new Instagram campaign that has been created to highlight the work of the sector.
The initiative, tagged #CharitySpotlightFortnight, encourages charities to log in to their Instagram accounts and post a photo each day that’s related to the daily topic. Topics will be announced by BluebirdPR, the initiators of the scheme, and will include what motivates the charity, the support of volunteers and the work of fundraisers.
#CharitySpotlightFortnight, which runs from 13-27 June, will also encourage all Instagram users to tag their favourite charity in order to raise awareness of their work.
“Small to medium sized charities do such vital work and I wanted to give them a platform for showcasing what makes them unique and why people should choose to support them,” said Sarah Wallace, director of Bluebird PR. “Instagram is such a great tool for charities as the old saying goes: a picture tells a thousand words.”
