Compete with friends and donate to charity with video challenge app Mettle

A new social app which challenges friends to compete with one another could be a game-changer for the charitable sector.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute grad Peter Wallace designed Mettle, which allows users to choose a category, such as sports, film it, challenge someone you know, and compete for points  from other users for 24 hours. The video with the most points wins.

Mettle is a natural fit for fundraising efforts; the videos provide a great way to share what you’re doing to help a particular cause, and also simply to spread the word about the charity or fundraiser itself.

The app is still in beta and free in the iTunes store. The Mettle team has been working on partnering with charities to build out a number of campaigns in 2015.
