Oxfam recently teamed up with mobile app EyeEm to launch a groundbreaking photography project, inviting people across the world to join the fight against land grabs as part of the Behind the Brands campaign.
Budding mobile photographers across the world are asked to submit photos through the free photo sharing app in which they ‘Stand for Land’ in their favourite place. The photos will be sent to food and beverage companies PepsiCo and Associated British Foods to show the breadth and depth of public support for land policies which protect the rights of poor farmers.
GROW Campaign Manager Conor Costello said “In order to secure the policies against land grabs that are needed to protect the rights of farmers and communities, keeping pressure on the target companies is key. Our collaboration with EyeEm is an exciting opportunity to engage with a new audience in a new way for Oxfam, and we’re thrilled with the response so far.”
After the project closes on Friday 13th December, the images will be used in print advertising and art installations that will be sent to the companies.
