Microdonations platform One Cent Call launches
A new microdonations platform, One Cent Call (OCC) has launched, which allows mobile phone users in the UK to add between 50p and GBP3.00 to their monthly bills which will then be donated to charity.
According to civilsociety.co.uk, customers using Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2 and Virgin Mobile are able to use the service. Charities can register for free and over 70 have already signed up. They will receive at least 85% of the total donation.
Liz Lankester, charity manager at OCC said: “We wanted to develop a way to fundraise that requires little effort and is open to all ages. The low donation limits mean young people and those on with limited incomes can get involved in doing social good.”
