The Medical Research Council (MRC) has provided the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) with GBP1m of funding which will give members three years of free access to a new impact measurement tool, Researchfish.
Researchfish launched in 2012 and lets funders gather data and track the progress of projects they have sponsored. It is used by 17 funding organisations, 10 universities and 6,500 researchers.
Sharmila Nebhrajani, chief executive of AMRC said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for funders big and small to assess their role in shaping UK medical research and improving healthcare. By sharing investment and impact data across the sector, our member charities will better understand where they have the greatest impact.”
