Facebook ‘likes’ to bring Heart Research UK GBP150,000

New campaign from Simplyhealth encourages users to raise money by engaging with its social media site.

Last year Simplyhealth raised GBP30,000 for Heart Research UK. It has now increased this target to GBP150,000 to fund a project which is looking at the connection between heart and dental health. Simplyhealth will be donating GBP1.00 to Heart Research UK for each Facebook ‘like’ it receives.

A TV advert is running from 14th-19th January to promote the campaign. Simplyhealth’s Facebook page uses guides and videos to attract a following. It also allows users to upload a picture of themselves to become ‘Simplyhealth Supporters,’ which can then be shared online with friends.

Head of Brand at Simplyhealth, Clare Lee, said: “With the help of our Facebook fans we aim to donate £150,000 to fund a research project that helps us all understand more about how our dental health can affect our heart”.
