As the refugee crisis in Europe continues to intensify, many charities are using their online presence and social media channels to raise awareness of the situation and communicate what they can do to help.
Oxfam has revealed a new campaign with the augmented messaging app Traces that will allow people to engage digitally with the charity by placing an augmented reality portal at over 650 UK retail locations.
We recently caught up with Paul Gill, who runs the Digital Engagement team at Oxfam GB. The team delivers user-centred digital comms, focused on providing the best digital brand experience, raising income and influencing.
Oxfam has awarded LIDA its direct and digital fundraising business. The agency won the account following a competitive pitch against 6 pitching agencies that began at the beginning of September, 2014.
LIDA’s strategic work will begin immediately and aims to move away from traditional forms of fundraising to deepen customer engagement and ultimately increase donations.
Grant Holton-Picard, technical infrastructure manager at Oxfam, said: “Being able to share precious information instantaneously across continents – from capital cities to the remotest locations – is vital for improving staff collaboration and organisational impact.”
Mobile payment solution Zapp has joined forces with Charities Aid Foundation and Oxfam Great Britain to introduce new ways for supporters to donate using their mobile phones.
