English Heritage joins ChariTable challenge

ChariTable Bookings and English Heritage have teamed up to get 500,000 people signed up to a ‘30 Bookings Challenge’ and to help raise much needed unrestricted funds to save, protect and preserve our national monuments.

The initiative encourages diners to book tables through the ChariTable app – and receive entry into prize draws and if they make and honour 30 bookings within a two-year period. ChariTable Bookings will donate £1 for EVERY diner to a charity of the booker’s choice.

A charity since April 2015, English Heritage cares for and maintains an internationally important collection of historic sites and artefacts in England, the majority of which are open to the public for free. The charity has now embarked on the largest conservation programme in the history of its collection.

Kate Mavor, CEO of English Heritage said: “From prehistoric stone circles to a Cold War Bunker, English Heritage cares for over 400 historic buildings and sites in England. Just maintaining these remarkable places costs over £20m a year and in our new role as a charity, we need people’s support more than ever before.

“We’re delighted with this initiative with ChariTable Bookings. Their 30 Bookings Challenge is an incredibly easy way for people to protect those places that made history so that future generations can also enjoy them.”
