Google is encouraging people to get together to organise community activities via its Local Guides programme, which offers a platform for volunteers to publicise local events.
As the Christmas season begins to get into full swing, Google is inviting Local Guides from around the world to join it for Local Guides Volunteer Day on December 10.
The tech giant says it’s an opportunity for volunteers to end the year on a positive note and to help make the world a better place.
Once activities have been registered they will be publicised on the platform, and browsers will be able to search and find local activities near them. Organisers are also being encouraged to share their event info on social media using the hashtag #LocalGuides.
Further information on the initiative can be found here.
