In great timing for Easter, Gadgette is calling in help and support from friends and followers to restore the reputation of the innocent egg through its #EggAid campaign. The idea of restoring the reputation of the egg comes from its association with anonymous trolls on Twitter, who set up new accounts for the sole purpose of abusing and harassing innocent people, without changing the default avatar of an egg.
To raise money for the charity users choose an egg – there are various levels of fanciness – and click to donate the cost of that egg to Cybersmile, the cyberbullying charity that is also part of Twitter’s new Trust & Safety Council.
