Follow Your Dreams, a national charity that inspires children and young people with learning disabilities, is funding a tech club for children and adults in Cwmbran.
The aim of Tech Club FYD is for children and older people on the autistic spectrum to socialise in a safe environment. Parents and family members have a chance to help them knowing they are playing in a safe place.
The club has had equipment donated including five Wii consoles, two PS2, two X-box 360 and a PS4. A Cwmbran companyT4 Tech donated tables, cables and members of staff came along to the club to help out.
Moira Hookings, a parent and organiser, believes this is the first club of its kind in the area and the idea came from seeing the tech club in Porthcawl with is also supported by the Follow Your Dreams charity.
Such is the success of the club that there’s a waiting list for it and organisers are currently looking for a bigger venue to be able to cater for more people.
