Together for Short Lives is sharing a series of infographics on social media to illustrate how it is there for the 49,000 seriously ill children in the UK with health conditions that mean they may die young.
The infographics, which will be shared using the hashtag #HereForThe49000, also help the public visualise the impact caring for a child with a life-limiting condition can have on families.
The charity is encouraging the public to get involved in the campaign by sharing experiences using the hashtag.
Together for Short Lives supports those who “help, love and care for children and young people who are unlikely to reach adulthood”.
It works with children’s hospices and numerous other services across the country to make sure every child, young person and their family always have the care and support they need.
The charity said:
“When a child is diagnosed their family’s whole world is turned upside down – many don’t know where to go for support.
“The new infographics explain the effects on those who love, care and support these children, and how many families can struggle to get the care and support they need.”
It added: “If you love or care for one of the 49,000 please join us by sharing your experiences too using #HereForThe49000.”
