The first digital Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Geoff Settle, plans to use modern technology as a way to engage with local residents and invite them to understand his work.
During his tenure, Settle will be using sites such as Facebook and Twitter to share news and events and endorse the work of charities he is working with, including: MacIntyre, National Autistic Society, Bipolar UK and The John Holt Cancer Support Foundation.
Settle said: “I am delighted to become Warrington’s first digital Mayor and champion digital channels to get more people engaged in my work and activities.
“It’s a great way to share my news and events and promote the fantastic work of the four charities I am working with during my mayoral year.”
