Compassion UK and Compassion Canada have selected Blackbaud’s CRM solution as part of a global technology review.
Blackbaud CRM is an enterprise wide platform developed specifically for large nonprofits. The solution combines fundraising management, online applications, multichannel direct marketing, actionable prospect research and analytics, to enable an integrated view of the supporter experience across an organisation.
Compassion is an international Christian child development and child advocacy ministry, with 11 global offices, providing support for more than 1.6 million children living in extreme poverty in 26 countries. As part of a global review, the UK office was looking for a new system to primarily support financial processing and Gift Aid, which contributes around £5m income per year.
Compassion UK’s Chief Operating Officer, Shelley Wallace said: “Unlike many other child sponsorship organisations which are community-focused, we put the child first and the community second. The sponsorship functionality within Blackbaud CRM enables us to designate revenue to a particular child. A lot of systems restrict the allocation of money to a specific fund, but Blackbaud CRM takes that to the next level by enabling us to allocate money to a sponsored child without a lot of customisation. Also, our legacy system handled Gift Aid as part of a workaround but because Blackbaud CRM is designed specifically for not-for-profits, it does this out of the box so was a great fit for our needs.”
