WaterAid and WorldView have announced the shortlist for their global sH2Orts competition of 21 films covering water-related subjects.
Entries for the competition, which called on budding filmmakers to submit one-minute films about what water means to them, came from 35 different countries across the globe.
Check out the shortlisted entries online now at http://www.wateraid.org/sh2ortslist. The most viewed film will be named as the public’s favourite while a panel of esteemed judges who work across the film industry will decide the overall winners.
Catherine Feltham, Film Producer for WaterAid, said: “We were really impressed by the quality and variety of the films we received – animation, documentary, drama, horror and comedy. They go to show how people across the world connect with water.”
Marion Simpson, Content Manager from WorldView, said: “This is storytelling at its very best – such talent, imagination and creativity has been shown in the making of this diverse collection of global shorts. I am delighted to be able to promote this exceptional series of films to the Public Media Alliance broadcast network.”
The top five films will be announced on Friday 20th March.
