Online payment processing platform Charity Checkout has added a new ‘Give & Nominate’ feature which enables small charities to benefit from a chain reaction of giving.
It has been immediately rolled out across Charity Checkout’s +1,000 charity merchants, enabling supporters of its charity clients to share and nominate their friends to follow them in giving to their chosen charity.
Supporters will be able to nominate friends and family to unite in support for their charity via email, Twitter and Facebook. The company believes this will be particularly useful for smaller charities with a strong local supporter base, but minimal budget for other forms of advertising or marketing.
This new feature comes at a time when nomination-based giving campaigns are gaining ground, as demonstrated by the #nomakeupselfie campaign and #ALSicebucketchallenge, which rose over $100m for ALS.
Chester Mojay-Sinclare, the Founder of Charity Checkout said: “We are pleased to announce the launch of this new free feature, which we hope will help charities generate increased donations at no additional cost. We all witnessed the power of viral giving campaigns last year and feel that incorporating a dedicated nomination feature into our payment process will be vital in ensuring our charity clients can maximise their online donations.”
