Charity Link in Northamptonshire is calling on people to support its first ever ‘Wear a funky scarf day’, which takes place on Friday, January 30th as part of Poverty Action Week 2015.
The charity wants to highlight the fact that many local people cannot afford to keep themselves warm over the winter period or have to choose between eating and heating. Those taking part are encouraged to post ‘scarf selfies’ on social media, using the hashtag #funkyscarfday.
Susan McEniff, Director of Marketing and Fundraising, says: “We hope that Wear a Funky Scarf Day will be a fun activity for people to get involved in to help beat the post-Christmas blues, but it does also have a serious message. By wearing your scarf and donating for the pleasure you will be showing support for individuals and families in the county who are in desperate need.”
