For the seventh year running, the Big Give hosted its annual match funding initiative, the Christmas Challenge, which launched on 4th December.
The Christmas Challenge is a unique and innovative way for charities to raise funds through online donations, which are matched by a combination of Big Give ‘Charity Champions’ and charities’ major donors. For donors, the Big Give offers a great opportunity to ‘give twice as much as you gave’.
Matching funds were released from Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th December. According to its Twitter account, over £10 million pounds were raised over the three day period. The Challenge also attracted a lot of social media attention as #TBGchallenge was trending on Twitter.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge was recently awarded the 2014 Charity Times Award in ‘Fundraising Technology’ and the Big Give is proud to be once again recognised as being at the forefront of digital giving and fundraising.
