On Tuesday 10th February a seminar will take place in London which will provide a timely opportunity to assess the next steps for charity law.
Discussion will consider the Protection of Charities Bill outlined in the Queen’s Speech, as the Law Commission continues its work on charity law. It will bring together key policymakers with stakeholders including fundraising regulators, charities, social enterprises and investment companies, lawyers, businesses and their advisors, citizen and interest groups, local authorities and academics – together with representatives of the national and trade press.
Delegates will also discuss innovation in fundraising including what more can be done to utilise technology, next steps for improving accountability and transparency in the sector, and the future of regulation.
Charities believe corporate fundraising is a key growth area. But recent research by the IoF has revealed that just 7% of charities with a corporate fundraising programme feel that it is “fully developed”. With this in mind, Virgin Money Giving is hosting a series of free live events between 5th and 7th October to help charities grow their corporate fundraising.
