The North East Autism Society (Neas) has launched a new Christmas fundraising appeal, asking people to dress up and take an ‘Elfie Selfie,’ which it hopes will become the latest social media trend.
The charity is urging people to join in the festive fun by sharing their elf-themed selfies on Facebook and Twitter.
Lisa Taylor, senior marketing and promotions officer at Neas, said: “This has come off the back of the ice bucket challenge and the no-makeup selfie crazes. We are asking people to take an elfie selfie, either by using an app or dressing up. They can then upload it on to face book, tag us in and nominate their friends. It should be great fun.”
Donations can be made by texting elfi14 followed by donation amount to 70070.
