A mobile phone app has been launched by microdonations service Ploink! which will allow users to collect virtual coins and donate them to charity, it has been reported. Ploink! has over 600 registered charities including BeatBullying and World Vision UK.
The app includes innovative features; when users shake their phones they hear the coins rattling, and when phones are pointed at a trigger image, a 3D piggy bank appears.
Director of Ploink!, Mark Simpson said: “Mobile devices are now the way people choose to interact with each other and the world and the world, so we wanted to create an app that made most of the device and gave users something fun to use and show to their friends.”
