According to a press release, Showcase of Fundraising Innovation and Inspiration (SOFII), a website which brings together effective fundraising practices, has launched a new public redevelopment appeal.
Thousands of fundraisers visit the site every day to access information on the site. SOFII hopes to raise GBP40,000 to fund its redevelopment which will improve its services. Developments to the website aim to reduce loading times, improve the search function, make information easier to find and the site easier to navigate. Additionally, the site will be made user-friendly, improving visitor experience when they are accessing it from a mobile device.
The appeal is supported by telephone fundraising agency Listen, which will match every GBP1.00 donated to SOFII up to the value of GBP10,000.
Managing trustee, Ken Burnett, said: “SOFII is the only resource of its kind. It can enable a novice fundraiser to get started or a seasoned professional to improve. Ultimately, the information shared on the site helps all fundraisers get better at their jobs and raise more money for the good causes they represent. To date, SOFII has largely been constructed and maintained by people giving their time pro-bono. This has enabled us to get where we are today, but to increase the number and frequency of users we need to offer a better user experience.
“To keep this vital information-sharing resource going and working to its full potential we must upgrade the site to meet demand. This redevelopment will allow us to launch a brand new website which is fit for purpose and will give us the firm foundations to keep improving SOFII for years to come.”
