Gift Aid is changing in April this year, and it is important that you understand how the changes will impact your organisation.
No longer will Gift Aid claims be processed manually via the postal service. An online portal will come into effect from April, Charities Online, which will allow claims to be processed through the internet.
Those organisations that wish to continue with the manual process will be able to do so, the only difference being an altered claimant form. Charities using the online service will benefit from a reduction in the amount of time spent on making claims, and removal of postal costs. HMRC’s payment period will stay at 21 days.
