For its seventh year, online video specialist See3 Communications and YouTube have teamed up to deliver the 2013 DoGooder Video Awards, which applaud the innovative use of video in promoting social good.
There will be four winning charities across four categories: The ImpactXAward, The Best Nonprofit Video Award, The Funny for Good Award and The Change Agent Awards. Winners will receive USD3,500 from technology company Cisco, free registration to the Nonprofit Technology Conference and will be featured on the YouTube home page.
Nonprofits in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia are eligible to enter. Entries close on 22nd March 2013. People will be able to vote which finalist should win between 25th March and 5th April.
Manager at YouTube for Good, Jesscia Mason, says: “We’re seeing more engaging, informative, and interactive videos that promote great causes. This year’s DoGooder Awards reflect this evolution, with categories that celebrate humorous videos and videos by individuals.”
Charities believe corporate fundraising is a key growth area. But recent research by the IoF has revealed that just 7% of charities with a corporate fundraising programme feel that it is “fully developed”. With this in mind, Virgin Money Giving is hosting a series of free live events between 5th and 7th October to help charities grow their corporate fundraising.
