The Guardian’s Voluntary Sector Network invites people to join in its live discussion on crowdfunding on Tuesday 5th March from 1pm to 3pm. The Q&A session will look at how crowdfunding could be used to finance a charity campaign. It will also explore any potential setbacks, and look at different approaches to take.
Crowdfunding is a method which is gaining popularity in the voluntary sector, and experts urge charities to have an effective strategy in place. Organisations registered with sites such as Peoplefund.it and Buzzbnk can receive multiple online donations in a short timeframe. Cancer Research UK used crowdfunding to great success in the past, raising GBP1m through its My Projects platform.
Charities believe corporate fundraising is a key growth area. But recent research by the IoF has revealed that just 7% of charities with a corporate fundraising programme feel that it is “fully developed”. With this in mind, Virgin Money Giving is hosting a series of free live events between 5th and 7th October to help charities grow their corporate fundraising.
